Dear Reader,
Information has always been the stuff of which good trades are made. Locating reliable and usable market data used to be a chore. Now the trick seems to be how to manage the seemingly endless supply of raw data that is available
In this issue we discuss data from various points of view. Marc Strausberg leads off with a look at EDGAR Online. Bob Pelletier shares his observations on the fundamentals of data for technical analysis. Leslie Mitchell reminds us that data comes in a variety of formats... not all of which are electronic. We also offer a look at several CRB data products: CRB InfoTech CD and CRB DataCenter.
On other topics, the folks at Moore Research Center describe the relationship between equity value and spread management, and Adrienne Toghraie offers her viewpoint on recovering from a loss... believe in or not, that loss may be helpful in the long-term.
Of course, Bob Ecob is back to identify What's Hot, Michael Kahn is in the Chartist Corner, and the Trader's Coach offers advice to those in need. Chris Myers is also back to review The Art of Short Selling.
In our next issue we will re-visit the topic of Trading Tools—ranging from the "old reliables" to the "cutting edge"—the products that are designed to make life easier for the trader.
