STEP 5: Distribution of Data and Reports from CRB DataCenter

Data Packages:

1. Select each Package then set the Format(s), Action and Destination for each.

Package pending setup for distribution
Package set up for distribution
Package excluded from distribution

1. A. Format: Select PRO (default), Meta (CompuTrac (MetaStock)) and/or ASCII (.CSV)
   (All 3 formats can be setup for output)
2. B. Action:
   • Select Distribute to distribute the Package.
   • Select Do not Distribute to omit the Package from distribution.
3. C. Destination: Select Default, One folder per symbol, Single flat folder or Specify folder.

Format = Pro (Default)

• Default: (C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Pro\)
  • Futures/Cash, COT, Options and Volatility Packages: Creates sub-folders based on first 2 characters of symbol.
    (i.e. C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Pro\Futures\SP\ and \COT\SP\; \Options\SP\; \Volatility\SP\)
  • U.S. Equities and Mutual Funds Packages: Creates sub-folders based on first character of symbol. (i.e. C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Pro\Equities\K\ and \Funds\F\)
• One folder per symbol: (PowerLink 4 - Auto-Distribute: C:\CRB\Pro\)
  • Path: Click to browse for location.
    • Futures/Cash, COT, Options and Volatility Packages: Creates sub-folders based on first 2 characters of symbol. (i.e. C:\CRB\Pro\SP\; C:\CRB\Strikpro\SP\)
    • U.S. Equities and Mutual Funds Packages: Creates sub-folders based on first character of symbol. (i.e. C:\CRB\Stocks\K\; C:\CRB\Funds\F\)
• Single flat folder: (PowerLink 4 default: C:\CRB\Pro\)
  • Path: Click to browse for location.
    • Distributes all data for a Package in a single folder.
      (i.e. C:\CRB\Pro\; C:\CRB\Strikpro\; C:\CRB\Stocks\; C:\CRB\Funds\)

TESS Users: Futures: Select Single Flat Folder Set Path to C:\CRB\PRO. Equities and Events: Select Single Flat Folder Set Path to C:\CRB\STOCKS.

Format = Meta (CompuTrac (MetaStock: master/.dat/.dop))

• Default: (C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Meta\)
  • Futures/Cash, COT, Volatility, U.S. Equities and Mutual Funds Packages: Creates sub-folders based on first 2 characters of symbol.
    (i.e. C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Meta\Futures\SP\ and \COT\SP\; \Volatility\SP\; \Equities\KR\; \Funds\FG\)
  • Options Package: Creates sub-folders based on first 2 characters of symbol AND sub-folders for each Contract. (i.e. C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Meta\Options\SP\SP2005M\)
• Specify folder: (PowerLink 4 default: C:\CRB\Master\)
  • Path: Click to browse for location
    • Futures/Cash, COT, Volatility, U.S. Equities and Mutual Funds Packages: Creates sub-folders based on first 2 characters of symbol.
      (i.e. C:\CRB\Master\SP\; C:\CRB\Stockmaster\KR\; C:\CRB\Fundmaster\FG\)
    • Options Package: Creates sub-folders based on first 2 characters of symbol AND sub-folders for each Contract. (i.e. C:\CRB\Strikmaster\SP\SP2005M\)

Format = ASCII (.CSV)

• Default: (C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Ascii\)
  • Creates comma (,) delimited files (.CSV) from the Daily files with the Default columns.
    (i.e. C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Ascii\Futures\ (T,D,O,H,L,C,V,I) and \COT\ (T,D,C,N,R); \Options\ (T,D,O,H,L,C,V,I); \Equities\ (T,D,O,H,L,C,V); \Funds\ (T,D,O,H,L,C); \Volatility\ (T,D,I,H))
• Specify folder: (PowerLink 4 default: C:\CRB\Text\)
  • Path: Click to browse for location
  • ASCII Line: Futures and Options (T,D,O,H,L,C,V,I); COT (T,D,C,N,R);
    Volatility (T,D,I,H); U.S. Equities (T,D,O,H,L,C,V); Funds (T,D,O,H,L,C)
    • Creates comma (,) delimited files (.CSV) from the Daily files with the selected columns. (i.e. FUTAMRyyyymmdd.CSV, OPTFINyyyymmdd.CSV)
1. D. Path: Set location for One folder per symbol, Single flat folder or Specify folder.
   • Click to browse for location
2. E. Use short file names (OPTIONS ONLY):
   • Check to preserve the use of 8 character symbology (i.e. SP1065R5) found in earlier versions of PowerLink.
   • Left unchecked, long file names using 12+ character symbology (i.e. SP2005M1065P) will be created.
3. F. Filter:
   • Select a Filter from the drop-down OR click to create your own Filter.

NOTE: ALL available Symbols in a Package will be distributed if a Filter is not selected.

Report Packages:

1. A. Format: Report
2. B. Action:
   • Select Distribute (default) to distribute the Package.
   • Select Do not Distribute to omit the Package from distribution.

   Format = Report (.TXT)

   • EFTA: C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Report\EFTA\
   • FMS Fundamental: C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Report\FMS\Fundamental\
   • FMS Technical: C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem\Data\Report\FMS\Technical\

Support Package:

1. A. Format: Support
2. B. Action:
   • Select Distribute (default) to distribute the Package.
   • Select Do not Distribute to omit the Package from distribution.

   Format = Support (.LST)

   • Automatically updates the Symbol list files (CCmaster.lst, SSmaster.lst and MFmaster.lst) and Expiration date files (FUTexp.lst and OPTexp.lst) in the Installation Path (C:\Program Files\CRB\PowerSystem)

2. Click Apply Selection to complete setup for each Package.

3. Click Next to proceed to Distribution Summary.

4. Distribution Summary: Verify the Packages, Formats, Paths, and Filters for distribution.

5. Click Next to proceed to Distribution Process OR Back for changes.

6. Distribution Process: Click Done to finish OR Check Launch Synthetic Data Generator when done then click Done to proceed to CRB PowerGen.
(exits or launches CRB PowerGen (STEP 6))

Congratulations! You have completed the initial setup for downloading and distributing your End-of-Day data and/or reports. To update, use the CRB PowerSystem - Silent Mode shortcut on the Desktop OR Click Start > Programs > CRB PowerSystem > CRB PowerSystem - Silent Mode
